TWO SADDLEWORTH businesses are celebrating after being awarded a Certificate of Excellence 2014 for ranking in the top ten per cent of businesses worldwide on Trip Advisor.

The Vintage Cupcake Kitchen in Uppermill and The Old Bell Inn at Delph both scooped the award for their impressive review ratings from customers on the top travelling site.trip advisor 2014

This puts the businesses among the select group who have received the annual accolade, with other winners including top hotels, restaurants and theme parks across the globe.

The Vintage Cupcake Kitchen, with an average of 97 per cent customer satisfaction, offers a mouth-watering array of homemade cakes, scones, ice-cream sundaes and milkshakes to eat in or take away.

Best friends Beth Blackmore and Hannah Jones, who opened the shop four years ago, admitted they were delighted with the award and thanked customers for their support.

“On behalf of us all we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has left a post on Trip Advisor about our shop,” they said.

“We are so over whelmed with this accomplishment and it makes us feel so proud and privileged to be able to bake sweet treats and share our dream with you all.

“We would also like to thank all of our wonderful staff past and present for their constant hard work. We are just still in shock how amazing the last four years have been.

“We might not be changing the world but bringing a little bit of happiness with our bakes makes us feel so lucky to have a job like ours.”

Meanwhile, The Old Bell Inn received the Certificate of Excellence for the second year in a row as they continue to receive outstanding reviews, with an average customer satisfaction of 89 per cent.

Philip Whiteman, proprietor of The Old Bell Inn, said: “Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is a true source of pride for the entire team here and we’d like to thank all of our past guests who took the time to complete a review on TripAdvisor.

“There is no greater seal of approval than being recognised by our customers.

“With the Certificate of Excellence based on customer reviews, the accolade is a remarkable vote of confidence to our business and our continued commitment to excellence.”

Marc Charron, President of TripAdvisor for Business, commented: “The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most – their customers.

“We want to applaud exceptional hospitality businesses for offering TripAdvisor travellers a great customer experience.”
