FROM FRESH fruit and Saddleworth milk to exotic Greek olives and Italian breads, an Uppermill greengrocers has all you need and more for a mouth-watering Christmas feast…

The store on New Street was taken over in March 2014 by Caroline Hardman and her brothers John and Tony, and renamed with their family name ‘Alimentari Di Alberti’.

The trio were inspired by their heritage to add tasty Italian produce to the already well-stocked shelves of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Now, Caroline manages the shop, which has been in Uppermill for more than 25 years, with Vanda Kennedy and Sarah Booth who are highly experienced in customer service and retail.

Caroline said: “We offer a friendly service selling good quality produce at good prices.

“We stock not only fruit and veg but also Longley farm produce, olives by Oliviccio in Delphi, Saddleworth milk, eggs, and English and Italian cheeses.

“And we’ve brought a little Italian style to the mix and are now selling Italian breads, pasta and much more.”

The store offers free local delivery on veg boxes from £10 and also a local delivery service for those who can not get into the shop but want to ring to order products.

Christmas pre-order forms are available in the shop now so shoppers can make sure they don’t miss out on any delicious items for their festive feasts.

Caroline added: “Shop local this Christmas and support your local independent shops. You might find we can offer you more for your money than the big supermarkets.

“If you haven’t tried us yet please call in. It’s self serve and you can buy as much or as little as you need. We are now registered to take healthy start vouchers too. We hope to see you soon!”
