AN EXCITING line-up of speakers and events is in the pipe-line for the Saddleworth Women’s Institute over the coming months.
They welcomed Stephen Ward from Oldham Mountain Rescue Team to their April 5 meeting, accompanied by Moss, his newly trained Border Collie.
Stephen explained how the search and rescue dogs use the inherent capabilities of the ‘wolf that occupies our hearth’ and are trained to be clever, life-saving heroes.
Then it is time to relax with Lisa Butterworth at their meeting on May 3 when she will explain the benefits of Reiki, an ancient Japanese treatment.
This is a holistic, healing aid that promotes relaxation and can lighten stress and pain. It is also used to encourage well-being on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level.
Next, on Thursday, May 11 guests can snap up stylish treats at a Ladies Fashion Show and Pop Up Show – this event is now sold out!
The event will be held at Saddleworth Hotel, doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm start, and is raising funds for local charities. There will also be a charity raffle.
The Saddleworth WI meets at Saddleworth Hotel on the first Wednesday of each month at 8pm, doors open from 7.15pm. New members and guests are always welcome.
They also have a variety of sub-groups which meet on a monthly basis.
