Steve, a self-employed painter who studied at Oldham Art School, said: “Painting is important to me; I like the ongoing struggle of trying to improve in both technique and statement.

“I am equally at home painting landscapes, people or completely abstract. Each area allows a different kind of statements to be made.

“Recently I have been thinking about the absence of a strategy, and though this exhibition is mostly landscape work, I am considering future work with a different intension.

“The reason for this comes from observing increased injustice in a world dominated by big corporations and greedy, corrupt governments that influence the media.

“I believe art should be put to use in criticising such a world, not with the intension to shock but in a symbolic manner with the hope of encouraging others to question what is going on and why.”

Steve is also a keen photographer, who previously held two exhibitions at the Museum Gallery.

He is in the process of redesigning his website to offer paintings for sale, photographs and graphic designs, canvas prints, photo greeting cards and a photo repair service.
