Needle point: Saddleworth author to help launch Oldham Writing Cafe anthology

Acclaimed Saddleworth author Jan Needle is guest of honour when Oldham Writing Café launches its second anthology, ‘Today’s Specials’, at Oldham Library, on Thursday, March 23 at 7pm.

A former journalist, Jan will introduce the event and talk about his varied career as novelist and TV and radio script writer.

His introduction will be followed by readings from the anthology of short stories, plays and poems by the contributing authors.

Tickets are available through the Library website costing £5 which includes refreshments plus a complimentary copy of the book- also available on Amazon for £5.50.

Today's SpecialsOldham Writing Cafe comprises a group of poets, novelists, short story writers, screen writers and procrastinators.

They meet on the first and third Saturday of each month at Lees Library at 10.30am.

New members are welcome with the usual £2 fee waived for the first session.
