Saddleworth School pupils serve up treats in aid of The Christie

A MOUTH-WATERING spread of baked goodies was served up by Saddleworth School students as they raised £165 for The Christie.

Year ten students in the BTEC Jamie Oliver home-cooking skills group held a Lunchtime Summer Fair to sell their homemade treats and raise funds.

The delicious selection included muffins, cupcakes, Victoria Sponge and chocolate cake and more.

There was also a tombola with prizes donated by the students, including soaps, chocolates, sweets, perfumes and gifts.

And entertainment was provided by the school’s Brass Ensemble conducted by Mrs Sarah Pickett.

Mrs Margaret Butler, who teaches the BTEC group with Mrs Adele Brooks, said: “It’s a brilliant effort from the whole team.

“Their teamwork is amazing and they have been absolutely wonderful and done it all themselves.

“We’ve lost a colleague to cancer, as many people have, so it is for a cause close to our hearts.”

The Year 10 BTEC Jamie Oliver group comprised Reece Furness, Kerry Gilroy, Viktoria Petrovics, Savannah Salisbury, Georgia Shaw, James Stallard, Samuel Sumner and Amy Uglow.
