Then on Sunday, June 18 is a Get Together at The White Hart, Lydgate from 12.30pm-8pm, organised by Love Lydgate, Saddleworth Round Table and Saddleworth 41 Club.
The event is free to enter and will include entertainment from the school choir, brass bands and other live music.
There will be pizzas, a hog roast and beer on sale, with 100 per cent of proceeds going to charity to help the victims of the recent attacks in Manchester and London.
Also on Sunday, June 18 is a fun, family day at Mahdlo from 11am-3pm, including a dog show organised by the RSPCA while Little Owl Farm from Denshaw are bringing along some of their furry friends.
‘If Oldham’ gardening project will be sharing green-fingered tips, there will be cooking demonstrations and much more.
Meanewhile, there will be a celebration of the life of MP Jo Cox at a Saddleworth picnic in Uppermill on Sunday, June 18 from 12noon.
Organised by the Saddleworth and Lees Labour party, all are welcome to the informal picnic on King George V playing fields. The organisers ask everyone to bring some food and drinks (non-alcoholic) to share. If you prefer not to sit on the grass, bring a picnic chair.
“The idea is for communities to share some time together and enjoy the company of neighbours”, explained Magda Sachs, local Labour group chairperson.
