Seaside show brings sunshine to Uppermill

A CHEERY seaside musical brought a bright ray of sunshine to Uppermill as well as raising £60 for charity.

‘Seaside Frolics’ performed by Uppermill Stage Society was a sell-out at Ebenezer Church over two nights.

It livened up the village with classic holiday songs for the audience to sing along to and also offered entertaining sketches and comedy by the cast of 15.

The show was all set against an eye-catching backdrop of a pier designed and hand-painted by society member Janet Iles and complete with twinkling lights and a tower.
No seaside visit is complete without having your photo taken in a ‘face in the hole board’, with a full-sized cut out again lovely designed and painted by Janet.

Eager audience members paid to have their photo taken in the cut out, raising £60 for the Oldham Cancer Support Centre.
