THEY MAY not have been by the racecourse at Royal Ascot but women across Saddleworth did not let that stop them enjoying Ladies Day.

Colourful dresses, high-heels and a vast array of hats were on display as they dressed to the nines to enjoy their lunches and an afternoon of cheering on the horses.

Oldham Mayoress Kathleen Hudson and Saddleworth Parish Council’s Chairman’s Lady Diane Sheldon celebrated with a group of ladies at the Old Bell Inn, Delph, as they raised money for local charities.

At the eighth Ladies Day event at the White Hart, Lydgate, the women were joined by mascots from chosen charities, Dr Kershaw’s Hospice and The Christies Allsorts.

And not to be left out, Saddleworth men gathered at The Three Crowns in Scouthead where landlord Ray Hicks hosted a Lads Day in aid of Saddleworth Round Table charities.
