Discover the ghosts of Uppermill

PREPARE FOR a fright on a brand new ghost walk around Uppermill which will reveal the darker side of the village to celebrate Halloween.

Stories of ghosts and murders from the area’s past will be told by host Mark Whiteley on the scary but informative and entertaining stroll over less than a mile lasting around 90 minutes.P4 Uppermill Ghost Walk

Young and old, believers or sceptics are all invited to take part in the Halloween Specials, which will take place on October 30 and 31 at 7.30pm and 10pm.

There is also a Kids’ Ghost Walk in fancy dress on the same days at 5.30pm to 7pm, which is suitable for children aged six or older.

The walks are organised and performed by the Hard Graft Theatre Company, which is a touring theatre company based in Oldham founded by Mark in 2000.

He said: “The walks will reveal the ghostly and darker side of the village. When I was doing my research and writing the route, I was amazed how many stories there are about here.

“I found out there are quite a lot of sightings and supernatural activity on Uppermill High Street, right in the middle of the village. P4 Uppermill Kids Ghost Walk

“It will be fun but it will be scary too, especially if you choose to come on the later one when it’s dark, as it is a ghost walk!”
