Fantastic £1,300 raised for charity at Diggle Day Nursery Summer Fete

A FANTASTIC £1,300 was raised for the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund at a Summer Fete hosted by Diggle Day Nursery.

The event offered fun for all the family, including a raffle, tombola, donkey rides and stalls as well as face painting, games and refreshments.

Kind businesses Bounce about Castles in Lees and the Dysarts pub in Greenfield, who provided a great spread of food, kindly donated half their profits from the day.

Stacey Hesford, nursery manager, said: “Overall it was an absolutely fantastic day, regardless of the weather, supported by our wonderful families, staff and public for an amazing cause.

“We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to making it a huge success and all the local businesses who donated raffle prizes.”

Proceeds will go to the PC Nicola Hughes Memorial Fund, set up in memory of the officer from Diggle who was murdered on duty in 2013.
