Fourteen arrested in early morning raids for drug dealing crackdown in Oldham

GMP logoFOURTEEN PEOPLE have been arrested in early morning raids as part of Operation Plumbline to crack down on drug dealing in Oldham.

They were arrested when officers from Greater Manchester Police raided 15 addresses just after 5.30am on Thursday, 30 April.

Ten men and four women were arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs, after officers executed warrants across Oldham and North Manchester.

Police have seized heroin and crack cocaine with a street value of £5,000.

The arrests came after months of investigations by officers from Oldham’s Organised Crime Team and Serious Crime Division into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine in the area.

Inspector Paul Walker of Oldham Division said: “This sends out a message to the Organised Crime Members from Oldham that we will never give up on our fight against this type of crime.

“Drugs cause widespread destruction to users and have a wider impact on the community.

“Communities have told us they want drugs and drug dealing tackled across the borough and I hope this continuous action highlights how seriously we take these crimes.

“This operation has taken months of intricate planning and dedication by a large team of officers from across the Force.”
