ENGLAND’S FINEST countryside event is all set for the off – and the Independent is offering two lucky families the chance to win tickets to be a part of it.
More than 130,000 visitors are expected to flock the Great Yorkshire Show on the outskirts of Harrogate on Tuesday 9, Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 July for an exciting, and informative day.
The event, organised at the 250-acre Great Yorkshire Showground by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, is a shop window for farming and country life, as well as a great day out for all the family with attractions to appeal to all ages.
Visitors can enjoy daily fashion shows featuring clothes from national and regional designers, cookery demonstrations showcasing many of the county’s top chefs, some of the country’s finest food and drink in the popular Food Hall and colourful displays from cutting-edge horticulturists in the Garden Show.
Taking to the Main Ring each day will be members of The Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team – The White Helmets – who are guaranteed to provide a thrilling spectacle for the crowds.
And with around a thousand businesses selling everything from couture clothing to garden furniture, the shopping opportunities are extensive.
More than 5,000 of Britain’s best cattle, sheep and pigs will be competing for the coveted championship awards, alongside top-class show jumping and equine classes, and also international sheep shearing competitions.
And the Independent has two family tickets – which each admit two adults and up to three children on any one day of the show, with a face value of £62 – to give away to lucky winners.
