Generous pupils bundle boxes of joy to donate to Operation Christmas Child

KIND-HEARTED PUPILS across Saddleworth bundled up boxes of joy to send to children in need this Christmas.

As part of Operation Christmas Child, junior school pupils filled shoeboxes with goodies and gifts including toys, hats, pencils, games and snacks.

At Knowsley Junior School in Springhead, Miss Phillips and pupils donated around 50 shoeboxes they had put together and stacked creatively in the shape of a Christmas tree.

And another 92 shoeboxes were donated by St Mary’s School in Greenfield after the whole school got involved.

Brightly wrapped shoeboxes were collected from 12 schools in the area by Mary Butt and Jo Lumb from Groundbreakers, who are also Operation Christmas Child volunteers.

They will be checked and then parcelled to be shipped to continent and shared among children in need this Christmas.
