Get snap happy with Saddleworth Photography Group at Satellite Centre

NEW photography sessions will keep locals ‘snap happy’ at the Satellite Centre in Greenfield.

The sessions will be held by Saddleworth Photography Group on every second Thursday of the month at 7.30pm.

“We’re not a fledgling group at all,” leader Jude Gidney explained.

“We’ve been ‘meeting’ online for the last five years and have always been happy to meet new photographers.

“By finding a home, we’re making things a little more official, although don’t expect pomp and ceremony!”

The Saddleworth-based group has already put on two exhibitions, one that is a permanent feature at the Civic Hall in Uppermill.

Jude added: “We intend to be a little more alternative and interactive than the average Camera Club. We’re embracing all types of photography and having fun.

“Whatever our present skill level, we can still keep learning from each other.”

All are welcome, from those who’ve just got their first camera for Christmas to those who have a lot of knowledge.

For a £5 door fee, sessions throughout the year will feature speakers, image shows, practicals and more, with topics led by the group.

Don’t forget to bring your camera, fully-charged battery, tripod (if you have one) and an eye for a good photo.

Jude concluded: “Rather than being judgemental, we’ll be learning from doing and picking up tips from each other.”

The Saddleworth Photography Group is part of a new company Saddleworth Community Projects CIC.
