AN INTERNATIONAL photographer is seeking support for a new book capturing the scenic Saddleworth area.
Matthew Murray has shot commissions for agencies in London and across Europe and currently has work on show at Gallery Vassie in Amsterdam.
Now, he is focusing on something a little closer to home as he has been shooting a series of landscapes of Saddleworth Moor for about three years.
And is he calling on the local community and businesses to get involved and financially support the project to help make his publication a reality.
Matthew explained: “A selection of this work has been exhibited in Amsterdam and one of the photographs won Best in Category at the Association of Photographers Awards in London.
“This area has a dark history that will always be home to some the most disturbing crimes in British history.”
“I am working with Grain Photography hub in the West Midlands to exhibit this series in Birmingham and Bradford and I am currently in the middle of making a bid to The Arts Council of England for funding.
“I am a lecturer at The University of Gloucestershire and they have pledged at least £2000 to support the publication of a book or catalogue for the exhibition.
“I would like any other organisations that may be interested in part funding the Saddleworth Moor Publication to get in touch and get involved.
“Any participants would have an acknowledgement in the publication and on all publicity to promote the exhibition.”
