AMBITIOUS Dobcross Silver Band soon aim to be hitting the high notes in the brass banding world after the appointment of a new musical director.
Jason Smith, formerly MD at Golborne, Flixton and Lindley, has already taken charge of his first rehearsal.
“Jason has all the qualities we need to take the Band forward once again and he is looking forward to the challenge,” said a club spokesperson of the accomplished cornet and flugel horn player.
“Hopefully, this is the dawn of a new, exciting chapter in the fortunes of the Silver band.”
With Whit Friday fast approaching, the band is looking to fill trombone and tuba positions. Anyone interested is asked to contact Andy Black on 07907 635397.
