Medal haul for Saddleworth at the Oldham Schools’ Swimming Championship

SADDLEWORTH School made a splash at the Oldham Schools’ Swimming Championship, winning a total of 12 medals.

There were six individual boys’ titles, two for the girls along with three in boys’ relays and one in girls’ relays.
There was a gold for Ziggy Standring in the year seven backstroke and silver for Archie Scott in the backstroke in the same age group.
James Lord and Oliver Sleight won gold in the year eight medley with Sleight striking silver in the breaststroke.
Year nine saw Ketan Sloan and Jack Varley both pick up silvers in the backstroke and breaststroke respectively.
And there was a bronze for the year nine squadron relay team of Ross Heald, George Sleight, Luke Taylor, Dan Tromans and Will Marston.

In the senior girls’ races, Gemma Croft won a silver in the breaststroke, Kate Leddy was second in the front crawl and there was also a silver for the girls’ squadron relay team of Charlotte Bacon, Gemma Croft, Kate Leddy, Maddison Potter-Farrants and Zara Mirza.
George Sleight won a bronze in the seniors’ breaststroke and there was also a third place for the squadron team of Ross Heald, George Sleight, Luke Taylor, Dan Tromans and Will Marston.
