DIGGLE photographer and mum-of-two Bev Ridyard is once more launching a free, six-week photo challenge to help children battle the boredom this summer holidays.
Bev, owner of Inspired By Joseph, is running the competition for a third year to offer parents an inexpensive way of giving children something fun to focus on.
“My two children are so creative and I love giving them mini challenges to keep them occupied,” she said. “Photography is for all ages, you can never be too young!
“Being a parent is super tough so if this gives parents and carers just half an hour’s peace a week, I will be glad to have helped.”
Bev’s passion as a photographer goes beyond taking family photographs for clients; she inspires them to take better photographs themselves.
She has taken one photograph of her life every day since she found out she was having her first child, Joseph – totalling more than 1,800 photos to date.
“Working with so many local families is a privilege and this is one of the many ways that I like to give back,” added Bev. “I can’t wait to see some of the great artistic talent.”
It is super simple to get involved. Parents or guardians just register to receive a weekly email.
Each Sunday evening, a theme will be provided for children to interpret, then parents simply need to reply to the email with their child’s best photograph. There will be useful guides and activities to help parents along the way too.
At the end of the six weeks, one winner will receive a complimentary photo session when Bev will also give personal tips to the winner.
Plus, if your child loves arts and you are looking for an activity to fill your day on Thursday, August 22, join Bev at Little Owl Farm in Delph from 10am-12pm for a mini workshop on photography skills for children of all ages.
Now in its second year, it promises to build your child’s skills while being fun and engaging.
The event is free but you must book in advance by emailing hello@inspiredbyjoseph.com with the number and age of children attending before Monday, August 19.
To register for the summer challenge, visit https://page.co/QB3n0 before Sunday, July 21.
