THREE FANTASTIC bands took to the stage on one evening to raise £2,060 for Dr Kershaws Hospice.
Soul and Motown band Technique organised the concert at the Civic Hall in Uppermill in aid of the charity for a third year, now raising a total of £6,564.
The popular seven-piece band, who were established in 1963, played from their repertoire of dynamic Soul and Motown classics for the audience.
Also performing on the night were Blondie tribute singer Roxanne and and local entertainer Morgan.
Mel Brierley, from Technique, said: “We are pleased to support Dr Kershaws at our Uppermill charity event once more.
“We really enjoy performing at the Civic Hall, where the audiences are appreciative of our music and readily enter the spirit of the occasion.
“Of course, we mustn’t forget the generosity of our sponsors and the hard work put in by the organisers, all of which help to make these events so successful.”
Angela Higham, Dr Kershaws Hospice Fundraising Team Leader, added: “I am overwhelmed with the amount Mel and the band has raised over the three years.
“I hope they continue to support the Hospice for many years to come, to support those in need in Oldham.”
