New music event to headline as Saddleworth Show returns

THE hugely popular Saddleworth Show is returning bigger and better than ever this year as a two-day event including a brand new music show.
The Show, which is run by the Rotary Clubs of Saddleworth and Oldham Metro, will be back at Well-i-Hole Farm in Greenfield on Sunday, July 1 with fun for all the family.

And this year will see the addition to of a music event called ‘Wellifest’ which will be held the day before on Saturday, June 30 from 4pm-10pm.
Wellifest will feature three fantastic tribute bands – Britney Spears, Lionel Richie, and Boy George – who will be supported by some great local bands.

You can buy tickets online or purchase them from The Royal George, Greenfield and the cost of £15. Entry to WelliFest is by ticket only and numbers are limited so make sure you get your tickets early.
Then Sunday’s Summer Show will be bigger than ever and has an exciting line-up of activities and attractions in store for all ages.
Frank Bolger, chair of Oldham Metro Rotary Club, said: “Come and enjoy a fantastic community event as all profits go to Local and Rotary supported charities.”
The main attraction will be Circus Sensible who are returning to give their popular Big Top performances and workshops throughout the day.
There will also be pony rides, stone carving, dog shows, children’s trampolines and inflatables, vintage and classics cars and brand new models.

Lots of entertainment for the family

The traditional Duck Race will take place on the River Tame near the site, and organisers expect around 2,000 ducks to be released down the waterway.
There will be also be music showcases, including a competition for children in three age group categories who will look to impress judge actor Clara Darcy with their talents.
And there will be plenty of food and drinks stalls with produce from local businesses, as well as trade and craft stalls and representatives from local groups and charities.
Gates open at 10am and close at 6pm. Entry is payable on the gate at £6/adult; £3/12-16yrs and free for all under 12s. There is free car parking at the site.
