THE door is open to a new Saddleworth Business Club to help local companies work and flourish together. The networking group was launched five months ago and has already quickly grown to about 17 members and meet monthly at the Saddleworth Hotel.
One of the founders Dave Ingham, a partner at St James’s Place Wealth Management in Lees, hopes more businesses will soon join their ranks.
“We’ve expanded quickly already and it’s nice to see local businesses having such a positive reaction to it,” he said.
“We have been involved with quite a few business group and networks over the years but had a few of my own ideas I wanted to try out. The group is constantly evolving as the members are encouraged to feed in their own ideas.
“The aim is to bring companies together from Saddleworth and nearby areas so we can pass on work, share contacts and network.
“A lot of the members have also been holding one-to-one sessions to help each other out and share ideas. The focus for 2019 has been business development and each member extending their own personal network.
“It’s good to be able to get to know the people behind the company so you can recommend someone you know and trust, knowing they will do the same for you.”
The club is seeking new members and hopes to attract one representative per industry. Membership is free.
Members include an accountant, financial advisor, social media consultant, tax instigation specialist, a builder, wills and probate, and a charity partner – the British Heart Foundation.
