Oldham Library invites you to join their ‘political party’

NO, it is not a green, red, yellow or a blue party. It’s Luca Rutherford’s party and she wants you to knock on and let yourself in.

Luca Rutherford

Luca has been confused by politics to the point where it has made her want to lie down on the pavement and not get up.

Instead of admitting defeat, she’s throwing a big ol’ party. A political one – with drinks, dancing and eggs. They’ll be no experts, or big words. This is a show about getting messy with the messiness of politics.

Following her sell-out show, Learning How to Die, Luca Rutherford’s Political Party is currently on its second tour of the UK.

Directed by Alex Swift (How to Win against History, Mess) the party will be coming to Oldham Library on Wednesday, February 6 from 7pm.

You will be expected to join in with the interactive performance and you do not have to be an authority on politics to get engaged with it.

Councillor Paul Jacques, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, said:“The show is a great addition to our Live@thelibrary programme which is building a strong reputation for fun and quality performances that take a less conventional look at the everyday.

“We do our bit by providing residents and visitors with top class performances at our libraries.

“All we ask in return is that residents do their bit and enjoy the services like our libraries, leisure centres and facilities across the town.

“I hope everyone enjoys the performance and continues to support our Live@thelibrary programme.”

Tickets for the show are £5. To book, just visit www.eventbrite.co.uk and search Luca Rutherford’s Political Party. You must make sure the location is set to Oldham.
