YOUNG PEOPLE across the borough are to be given a helping hand as they are the focus of this year’s Kerrching Grants award.
The ‘Kerrching – Youth Opportunity Fund’ aims to help groups provide opportunities for young people in their leisure time to improve their health and wellbeing.
A maximum of £1,500 is available to groups offering activities for all young people across the borough aged 11-19 years or, or up to 25 if they have additional needs.
The theme of the funding is health and applications for activities will only be funded if they clearly address at least one of the following priority outcomes:
- Improving the emotional health and mental health of young people
- Increase levels of physical activity
- Improves sexual health and positive relationships
- Reduces substance misuse, including alcohol, drugs, tobacco and legal highs
Young people from Oldham Youth Council will review the applications and make the decisions about the allocation of funds.
Applications from all types of groups who offer activities and opportunities for positive engagement to young people are invited.
The deadline for applications is Friday, June 5, 2015 at 3pm.
