A SADDLEWORTH primary school is celebrating after its Year Six pupils achieved some of its best SATS results ever.
Some 91 per cent of children at Diggle School reached the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
Compare that to the national average of 59 per cent and it is easy to see why it is all smiles at Sam Road.
The fantastic SATS results came on the heels of Diggle School’s latest Ofsted inspection in April, where once again it received a ‘Good’ rating.
Ofsted said: “Diggle School has a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
“Pupils are polite and well-mannered. They cherish the strong relationships that they have with their teachers.
“Pupils feel well cared for and safe.”
On the latest crop of results, headteacher Sarah Newton beamed: “The staff at Diggle School couldn’t be any prouder of our former Year Six.
“They worked so hard and achieved some amazing results.
“They’ve all started their secondary school journeys now and although we’re going to miss them greatly, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for them all.’’
Mrs Newton added the doors of Diggle School are always open and if anyone would like to visit to find out more, she would be delighted to see them.
Well done everyone, i am so glad to see it is still a happy school. My happiest days were spent there with the wonderful Mr Wood as headmaster. Keep it up and make many more childrens early school days happy ones to remember.
