A £1,000 donation to Mahdlo Youth Zone’s Christmas Appeal will help ensure that young people have access to evening teatime free meal provision during the festive season.
Saddleworth Rotary Club made the donation as they wished to help provide food opportunities to young people who might struggle to get a regular meal during Christmas and New Year.
Mahdlo’s Christmas Appeal hopes to provide a better Christmas for young people in Oldham who would otherwise have missed out on even the basic needs.
Clint Elliott, President of Saddleworth Rotary Club who are regular supporters of Mahdlo, said: “To be hungry at Christmas when those around you are celebrating must be particularly difficult.
“Our members recognise the great work that Mahdlo is doing to help young people throughout the year but particularly their efforts to bring some joy to those in need over the festive period.”
Mahdlo’s Events Lead Elizabeth Kershaw said: “We are incredibly grateful for the generous support we receive throughout the year and at especially at Christmas, we are thankful for the extra help to bring joy to our young people.
“A massive thank you to Saddleworth Rotary for their generous donation. Your kindness is making the festive season brighter for so many!”
- Mahdlo, based in Oldham, offers activities, support and opportunities to eight to 19 year olds (up to 25 for young people with a disability) every day of the year.
