September brings silliness to Saddleworth thanks to Comedy Club

SEPTEMBER’S line-ups at Greenfield’s Off The Rails Comedy Club promise big laughs at little prices.

Mick Ferry

The event at The Royal George on Saturday, September 7 aims to raise both laughs and funds for Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club.

Mick Ferry will be headlining the show, with Jenny Collier opening and Andrew White and Rob Riley completing the bill.

Jenny moved from the Welsh mountains to London to launch her career in stand-up comedy.

So far highlights have included appearing on a BBC panel show with Jo Brand and the lowest point was when an audience member told her ‘You should be a stripper’ – although she claims that is secretly a highlight!

The show starts at 8.30pm and tickets cost £15 on the door or £12 from The Royal George or via the Off The Rails website: www.saddleworthcomedy.co.uk

Then Mick Ferry returns on Sunday, September 29 to introduce one of the most distinctive acts on the circuit.

When a legend reaches a certain point in their career, it’s time to ease up on doing legendary things and reflect on an exemplary life.

Sol Bernstein has reached that point, and he invites us to listen to his tales of the high life with the biggest names in showbiz, musings on how the world has changed, and being just an ordinary Jew with world-beating wit, unbounded talent and death-defying chutzpah. Stockport’s Steve Shanyaski and Ben Turner complete the line-up.

The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £10 and from the venue or the website: www.saddleworthcomedy.co.uk

All acts are subject to change. Strong language and adult themes throughout and most definitely not for people who get offended by jokes! All shows are fully seated.
