A TALENTED hairdresser has returned to her roots from the fashion central of London.
Lynsey Ashton Fyfe is now based at prestigious salon Carey and Carey on Manchester Street in Oldham, which has been there since 1988 and founded in 1977.

Here, she is working alongside the talented team to share her experience and skills to enhance the perfect salon service.
Lynsey started her career at this salon 20 years ago as an enthusiastic assistant under the guidance of Kevin Carey, who is still the director of the company.
Kevin truly gave Lynsey the hairdressing bug by taking her to salon international and alternative hair shows that awakened her creative side.
Lynsey explained: “The shows opened up what hairdressing was all about and gave me the buzz to achieve and be educated to the highest level.”
When Toni and Guy opened a salon in the early 90s in Manchester Lynsey left Kevin’s side to join the team.
It wasn’t long before she was looking after her own clientele, including celebrities from film and television, pop bands and footballers – she even gave David Beckham his famous blonde highlights In the late 90s.
Soon Lynsey became part of the educational team at the Toni and Guy Manchester Academy and started travelling to London quite frequently to teach alongside the art team.

In 2000, she was invited to join the art team and had to present a cat walk show of 20 models forecasting key trends in hair, makeup and fashion, after which she was successfully awarded art director.
She worked alongside some of the industry’s leading hairdressers and moved to London where she became international artistic director and leading educator with Toni and Guy.
She travelled the world from Italy and Spain to Japan and America to do shows and workshops for independent hairdressers as well as product houses.
Her eye-catching work has featured on the front of numerous magazines and she has worked at London fashion week for more than a decade.
She has also been a finalist twice for the L’Oreal colour trophy and finalist for the British hairdressing awards with the Toni and Guy art team.
Lynsey settled back in Manchester in 2011 with her husband and after deciding to focus on education she was head of technical training at the Manchester Academy for the north of England.
She explained: “My passion is educating and making people feel confident to do hair and that clients feel great with the cut and colour they have.”

Lynsey left Toni and Guy in 2013 to be closer to home after the birth of her first child Jackson in 2012 but it wasn’t long before she found her way back to Kevin to pursue her passion of hairdressing and education.
She said: “I have made a full loop back to Kevin and want to create a unique training academy and offer bespoke and structured courses for hairdressers, using all my experiences.”
Kevin added: “It’s fabulous Lynsey has come back to us and it is great to have her on board. I used to go to all of her shows to support what she was doing.”
Now the pair are launching AC academy on the second floor of Carey and Carey hairdressing salon, due to open in Spring and offer various courses for all hairdressers country wide.
