SPLATTERED FROM head to toe in mud, three triumphant teenagers completed a 5K race with a difference to raise £420 for charity.
Amelia Shaw, Helen Clark, and Amy Ellershaw, all aged 18, took on the ‘Pretty Muddy Race For Life’ in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The trio, who all play for Diggle Brass Band, donned bright pink outfits as they navigated around the course and its various obstacles and lots and lots of mud.
Oldham Sixth Form student Amelia said: “We had such a good day and the atmosphere was amazing – it was even sunny.
“We ran it in about 45 minutes which we were happy with. In total we’ve raised about £420 and definitely want to do it again next year!
“None of us have done anything like it before but it seemed like something we could do both to raise a lot of money and also have a great time doing it.”
