Bagpipes with attitude, drums with a Scottish accent and a show that carries its own health warning – that’s exactly what you can expect from The Red Hot Chilli Pipers as they come to Holmfirth this month.
From a cameo appearance at T in the Park in 2004 to opening the main stage in 2014, the past ten years has seen them become the most famous bagpipe band ever
The band’s achievements have reached incredible heights with their ground-breaking fusion of traditional Scottish music and Rock/Pop Anthems which they proudly call “Bagrock”.
They have twice been awarded ‘Best Live Act in Scotland’ and their performances at major international events include BBC Proms in Hyde Park, Wacken Open Air, The Rugby World Cup, NBC Olympic Games studio and Bahrain Grand Prix.
They achieved a Gold disc for over 100,000 UK sales of their first album ‘Backrock to the Masses’ and later enjoyed triple platinum status for their album and DVD ‘Blast Live’.
Sell-out gigs and tours have taken them around the world including to USA, China, Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand and France.
In November 2014, The Chillis released a new live DVD and CD entitled ‘Live at the Lake’. In an explosive evening of entertainment captured on this live DVD and CD, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers recorded their most adventurous project to date, bringing 16 musicians and dancers across the Atlantic to perform at Milwaukee Irish Fest, the US spiritual home of the band.
Tracks include Insomnia, Gimme All Your Lovin’, Thunderstruck, Everybody Dance Now, Amazing Grace, Fix You, Chasing Cars, Wake Me Up, Don’t Stop Believin and We Will Rock You from Queen.
And audiences can hear some of these, plus other classics, from the band when they come to Holmfirth Picturedrome on Thursday, November 24.
Tickets cost £20 and are available from the Box Office by calling: 08444 780 89877 or online.
