AN ENTERTAINING line-up lies in store for music lovers at the Holmfirth Blues Weekend at The Picturedrome in October.

Taking the stage on Friday, October 7 is Joanne Shaw Taylor, who has established herself as the UK’s number one star in the blues rock world.
The girl with the big voice from the Black Country has toured extensively and released critically acclaimed albums, gaining a global fan base and playing alongside some of her musical idols.
At 13 she played her first electric guitar and at 14, she defied her teachers to play The Marquee and Ronnie Scott’s, and began to overcome insecurity about her voice.
She has been described in the press as “A world class Blues talent” (Classic Rock), “A thrilling guitarist and a powerful vocalist” (Time Out) and possessing “…heart wrenching vocals” (Sunday Times).
Joanne has broken into the notoriously hard-to-crack US market, beating the stereotypes of her age and gender, and being watched by 17 million viewers at the 2012 Diamond Jubilee Concert.
September 2016 sees Joanne release ‘Wild’, the Nashville-recorded album with her musical style evolving ever so slightly under the helm of legendary producer Kevin Shirley.

Then on Saturday, October 8, Dr Feelgood and special guest Rebecca Downes will entertain.
Touring since 1973, Dr Feelgood always delivers the finest British rhythm and blues, and will be performing such hits as including Milk And Alcohol, Down At The Doctors and Roxette.
Formed on Canvey Island in Essex in the early 1970’s Dr Feelgood has become one of the most popular live rhythm and blues acts in the world.
Special guest Rebecca Downes will bring an explosion of Soul tinged Blues from the days when R’n’B rocked the world.
Rebecca is doing things her way; taking the music back to its raw basics, and there’s humour in there, and warmth too.

Last but not least on Sunday, October 9 the Ryan McGarvey Band featuring legendary bass player Carmine Rojas will perform.
Ryan’s accolades include being selected by Eric Clapton from over 4,000 artists to perform at his 2010 Crossroads Guitar Festival and being named Guitar Player Magazine’s Annual Readers Choice Award for Best New Talent in 2013.
2014 proved to be another epic year for McGarvey as he was voted the winner of Best Guitarist in the European Blues Awards.
Since then, with the release of his latest album The Road Chosen, Ryan has toured internationally, including major festivals throughout Europe.
His incendiary, yet dynamic guitar playing leaves crowds wanting more of his strong songs, award winning vocals and fierce guitar playing.
