IT is not every day you get to dress up a policeman, complete with the hat, truncheon and handcuffs…
But that is what three excited youngsters got the chance to do after winning a competition in the Saddleworth Independent, run in conjunction with author Barbara Hegab.
Barbara asked PC Lee Cullen and PC Lee Lockwood from the Saddleworth and Lees Neighbourhood Policing Team to present signed copies of her Policeman Pete books to the lucky winners.
The three children had drawn and painted fantastic pictures of the police working to help in the community.
After presenting the books, the kind-spirited local coppers let Jenson, Evelyn and Elisha try on their body armour and check out their equipment including truncheons and handcuffs!
