Young Dobcross Primary School athletes reach Manchester finals

DOBCROSS PRIMARY School’s talented young athletes have won through to the Manchester Games at SportCity on Tuesday, March 15.

The year five/six pupils qualified after enjoying success in the Oldham Schools’ Indoor Athletics Championships at Newman College.

Dobcross were one of the winners of four heats and then in the Oldham final finished runners-up.

Gill Smith, from Dobcross Primary, said: “I have to say the whole team worked really hard and have put in lots of practice as well. And in both events, they showed fantastic team effort and spirit.”
