IT WAS described as no walk in the park as nearly 300 runners took part in the Milltown to Moors 7k race.
The event, which started from Alexandra Park, was won by Sale Running Club’s Gareth Raven in 23min 01sec.
And he was almost three minutes clear of runner-up Philip Marsden, of Royton Road Runners, who clocked 25:54 and third-placed Daniel McManus, also from RRR, in 26:16.
It was a much closer finish for the women as Becki Robinson (29:19) was the winner while seven seconds behind in second spot was Jennifer Bloor. Third was Jane Augsburger (31:22) with all three runners members of Royton Road Runners.
The next in the series of Milltown to Moors races in the 10k on Sunday, June 21 while the half marathon is on Sunday, October 18.
