Kind-hearted local residents Lisa Jane and Hannah-Leigh Savage have joined forces to help Hits Radio’s #nochildshouldgohungry appeal.
Last month, Hits Radio, formerly Key 103, launched an urgent food bank appeal after figures were released suggesting three million children across the UK are at risk of ‘significant hunger’ during the summer holidays.
Many families rely on their children having a free school meal as their main meal of their day. Unfortunately, without that meal, one in three children are expected to go hungry.
Lisa and her friend Dallas Baker already held a food collection and donated food themselves, and now Lisa has teamed up with Hannah to hold a fundraiser for the appeal at Muse Bar and Eatery, Uppermill.

The event on Wednesday, August 8 will be between 6pm and 9pm and any donations of food will be appreciated.
Entry to the event is £2 at the door and each person who attends will automatically be entered into a prize-draw.
Many local businesses have rallied in support of the cause and have donated amazing prizes, including an £80 Boundary House Practice voucher, a six-month entry pass to Play Oldham and Diggle, and Temple Spa Products.
All money raised from the event will be used to buy food to help fill the food banks.
