A MOTHER and son team are tackling their dream project together as they add their own twist to a popular restaurant and wine bar in Uppermill.
Liz and Robert Norbury took over Muse at the end of November and are already busy redecorating both inside and out, as well as updating the food and wine menus.
And delighted soap fans are already calling in to see Rob, who starred in Hollyoaks, and other local cast members who visit.
Liz revealed taking over a café business is something she has had her sights set on and she is enjoying having a family member as a business partner.
“It is something I have wanted to do for a while,” admitted Liz, who has always worked in the hospitality business with a hair and beauty background.
“My sons Robert and Michael, (Michael is a live trader in Malta working for Stanley International) are older now which allows more freedom with my time.
“It’s a good opportunity to work with Robert and I like the idea of a family business that is mother and son as it’s usually mother and daughter or father and son. Rob and I have different strengths so it works well.”
The restaurant serves home-cooked food, combining classics with modern and daily specials or customers can just enjoy a drink from a choice of excellent wines and a variety of bottled beers.
Muse also boasts a conservatory, which is popular for private functions and has outside access in the warmer months.
Rob, who is an actor and personal trainer, added: “We offer a relaxed and friendly environment with a nice outside seated area for those who prefer to eat and drink al fresco.
“Sky TV has been installed so it will be ideal to entertain children throughout the day while parents relax. We’ve also got sports channels for our sporty customers.”
