THREE friends have put together one exhibition opening at Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill this month.
Dobcross based Kevin Haynes, Robert Lees from Royton and Cliff Murphy from Oldham are calling their collective works, ‘Comrades in Art’.
The exhibition is free and opens daily 1-4pm from August 18 to September 16.
“It will be the first time I’ve exhibited at the Museum so I’m really looking forward to it,” said Kevin, 68.
“The three of us have known each other for years and this exhibition seemed like a natural progression for us.”
Kevin, originally from Waterhead, says his work is inspired by his memories of the cotton mills that once dominated the Oldham landscape.
“My work is of a naïve style-crisp lines and vibrant colours which create warm, amusing and unique pictures that capture the times of the northern textile industry.”
