
DRAMATIC WORK by the Saddleworth Group of Artists will go in display at their annual Summer Exhibition this month.
Up to 50 works including oil, watercolour, pastel and textiles will be on display at Saddleworth Museum in Uppermill from Saturday, June 14 to Saturday, July 19.
Styles range from photorealism to expressionistic and well-known local artists including John McCombes, Sheila Dewsbury and Janice Bowie will be exhibiting, with most of the work for sale.
Started in 1950, the Saddleworth Group of Artists is in its 63rd year and is comprised of enthusiastic members wishing to paint and exhibit their work.
Inspiration is not hard to come by in the picturesque Saddleworth area, with local artists taking full advantage of the rural landscape and cityscapes as well as historical cotton mills and machinery.

The exhibition will be held at Saddleworth Museum on High Street in Uppermill. As a registered charity the museum is reliant on admission charges as part of its income. Open daily 1.00pm to 4.00pm. Adults £2 – Children – £1 – Concessions.
