No matter what size of company you own or work in, there comes a time when your company needs the skills and technical know-how of an IT professional. That is why companies outsource their IT support.

As a company that sells IT support for a living, we regularly get asked the question “should a business outsource their IT support?” There are many reason why a business should but also times when they shouldn’t.

When you do outsource, you are essential paying another company to perform a job or role for your company. We outsource our accounts department because it saves us costs and our accountants are experts in their field. I wouldn’t fancy performing a VAT return.

It’s the same with IT and other technology services.

Outsourcing IT support can provide a business with many benefits and some of the key ones are:

There are also circumstances when it’s not the right option to outsource your IT support. For example, your business may need onsite support continually throughout the day so it may be more economical to employ a full time member of staff or assemble a helpdesk team.
