SPECIAL GUEST ‘Patelvis’ was on hand to make sure guests couldn’t help falling in love with the new authentic Indian restaurant in Austerlands…
The Indian Elvis Presley tribute act brought his top-class repertoire of the King’s hits to the opening night of Anise – named after the spice – on Huddersfield Road last month.
The restaurant, formerly Italian La Voglia, has undergone a stylish transformation to offer a modern and sleek setting for up to 90 diners, as well as a welcoming lounge and bar.
And the exotic menu brings a taste of India, Bangladesh, Goa and Nepal to customers, plus English dishes and fish and seafood options.
Ziggy Miah is running the restaurant with his brother Tony and business partner Hassan Ahmed and it is the fourth in their expanding portfolio.
He said: “I’ve got 30 years’ experience in the industry as I started out as a waiter and have worked my way up, so I understand what customers want from a restaurant.
“There is nothing quite like this here. It’s city centre dining right here in Saddleworth.
“Customers can choose from an intimate booth or more traditional tables and there is also a comfortable lounge area to enjoy cocktails.”
All their dishes are freshly prepared on the premises using natural ingredients and spices to create an array of mouth-watering choices.
Ziggy added: “We’re bringing an authentic Indian flavour and are confident once customers have tried our menu, they will be back again and again.
“Our menu has been specially selected to cater for all tastes and our three chefs make sure only the best food is cooked fresh for our customers.”
Anise also offer takeaway deals, with two complimentary bottles of Cobra when you spend £25 or more (collections only) with free delivery on orders over £15 in a three-mile radius.
