Be part of interactive panel discussion on ‘’The F Word: Oldham & Obesity’

BE part of an interactive panel event discussing the rising issue of both child and adult obesity in Oldham.

ABL Health, a community health provider, is hosting ‘The F Word: Oldham & Obesity’ on Thursday, January 16 at Mahdlo Youth Zone on Egerton Street, Oldham.

ABL Health delivers a specialist weight management service within Oldham and works with more than 200 clients every year helping them to lead healthier, happier lives.

Currently in Oldham over two thirds of adults are overweight or obese while more than 35 per cent of Year 6 children also fall within this category.

At the event, a panel of local experts will discuss how we can work together to find a solution to this trend and rising tide of obesity.

Up for debate will be Oldham’s approach to health, well-being and the borough’s increasing obese population.

All audience members will have the opportunity to pose questions to the panel, so come and make sure your voice is heard.

On the panel are:

  • Cllr Dr Zahid Chauhan, Councillor & Cabinet Member Adult Social Care &Health GP
  • Siba Senapati MS, FRCS, FRCS (Gen).
  • Dr Anita Sharma GPwSI Gynaecology (Family Doctor Association Educational Lead North West).
  • Kate Anderson RNutr (Head of Service Development, ABL Health).
  • Razwan Mohammed MBA (COO MahdloYZ).

The event is open to all those with a vested interest in helping to tackle obesity across Oldham.

The evening starts with an arrival, meet and greet and hot buffet from 6pm to 6.30pm. On arrival please attend the reception and check in with staff. You will then be directed to the main hall where the event will take place.

Approximate running times will be introductions and opening statements from 6.30pm to 6.45pm followed by open floor Q&A until 7.45pm.

There will be an opportunity to chat and network from 7.45pm to 8.15pm.

Refreshments will be provided, including hot buffet.

Limited parking is available around the venue. The closest car park is Bradshaw Street, Oldham OL1 3EX.
