A popular wedding venue is celebrating its own special day after scooping ‘Best Venue’ at the prestigious Guides for Brides Customer Service Awards 2018.
Best Western Hotel Smokies Park, in Oldham, saw off the competition from other venues nationwide to win the accolade, as well as being a finalist in the ‘Venue – Exclusive Use’ category.
Brides and grooms who have celebrated their big day at Smokies or will be doing so in the near future submitted glowing reviews to help the hotel make it onto the final shortlist.
Then after impressing judges they came away with the title.
Andrea Harris, who is Smokies’ sales, events and weddings manager, collected the award with wedding co-ordinator Sophie Rothwell, at a glittering ceremony at 4 Hamilton Place in London.
Andrea said: “It is a huge achievement to win as last year we only got shortlisted so to win this time shows how much we have improved, both as a hotel and a team.
“It was extra special for our newly-formed wedding team to get the awards.”
Smokies boasts two function suites that can cater for 50-280 guests for weddings, events, parties, conferences, sportsman’s dinners and in-house events.
They are licensed for civil wedding and partnership ceremonies, and offer a range of wedding packages in their suites with dining and entertainment.
They also offer the opportunity to accommodate the bridal party and guests in their 73 rooms at special rates to those attending the event.
