THE ALL too familiar curse struck after Mossley were named club of the month for February in Evo-Stik League, first division north.
Mossley landed the award after being unbeaten in the month, winning three and drawing one of their four matches.
But on the night the club was handed their award on March 3, their 11-match unbeaten run came to an end following a 1-0 home defeat to Bamber Bridge.
Mossley had been unbeaten since December 20 when they lost at Scarborough Athletic.
Normal service was resumed last Saturday, though, when Mossley beat Prescot Cables 3-1 to climb to ninth place in the table and within striking distance of the play-off spots.
In the Evo-Stik League, rather than having a manager-of-the-month award, it is a club of the month.
