THE BEST businesses in the borough were honoured at a special awards evening to celebrate their success.
‘An Evening with thebestof Oldham’ brought together businesses of all types – from butchers and cafés to salons and jewelers – for the annual event at The Cotton Rooms in Oldham.
Awards were presented to the Best Business in Oldham and two runners-up, based on reviews and feedback left by customers.
Sports Physio UK, a family company based in Shaw, clinched the top award, while sign makers Brokenpencil were first runner-up and Betty’s Fish and Chip shop in Uppermill second.
There were also awards for runner-ups in national categories for Sports Physio UK (Best Physiotherapy), Brokenpencil (Best Sign Makers) and Paul’s Quality Meats (Best Butchers).
Scott Woodhead, one of the owners of Sports Physio UK, was delighted with their double success after only being a bestof Oldham member for 13 months.
“It was unexpected but we’re very pleased,” he said. “As a company we’ve only been established for three years so we are still in our infancy.
“We’ve got a great team and we without them we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this. They all help to make us one of the best places to come in Oldham.
“Every review we have had from clients has been a five-star review and that’s fantastic.
“Our clients come largely through recommendations and thebestof Oldham is a massive part of that.
“Moving forward, we want to keep our title – and even get to the next level and win the national category!”
Reviews from satisfied patients include “I have found Scott to be honest, professional, efficient, accommodating to patients and very knowledgeable” and “Excellent staff and they certainly know their stuff”.
