BRASS band lovers can extend their Whit Friday celebrations by enjoying ‘Brass Fest 9’ the following day.
The special Whit Weekend concert will be held at the Civic Hall in Uppermill, organised by Champion Brass, on Saturday, June 15 starting at 7.30pm.
This year’s event brings music from around the world.
There will be Weston Silver Band, who will be the first Canadian band to appear in the Brass Fest Concert.
Brass Band Reykjavik from Iceland will also take to the stage, fresh from playing on Whit Friday morning for the joint procession of St Chad’s and Sacred Heart churches through Uppermill.
Also playing will be Lund University from Sweden, who are accompanying Denshaw procession on Whit Friday morning.
Compere for the evening will be David Hoyle, BBC Radio presenter of Yorkshire Brass.
