A BRAVE member of Oldham Mountain Rescue Team is facing a few weeks on the side-lines after suffering an injury during a mission.
Bob, the team’s search dog, is recovering at home with his handler Mick Nield after suffering a suspected broken leg.
OMRT announced the news in an update on their Facebook page, saying: “As the team settles down into another week, we have to report on an unfortunate injury to one of our team members.
“Search dog Bob, who with his handler Mick Nield, was out searching the moors on Saturday between Birchin Clough and Ravenstones, took a nasty knock to his lower leg and has suffered a suspected broken bone.
“After getting Bob off the hill and giving him some ‘TLC’ Mick had to take Bob to the emergency vets on Sunday morning.
“The prognosis for Bob is good although he’s currently laid up at home and will be out of action for a few weeks.”
