ARE YOU bored of the same old Christmas decorations? Why not treat the family to something different this year?
A selection of hand-crafted wooden curios from Woozlewood, a bespoke family-run business, offers an exciting and innovative alternative.
Of particular interest at this time of year is their unique Christmas Elf Door that will have the younger children on the lookout for little imps for hours.
They also offer an excellent collection of hand-crafted wooden ornaments that can be hung from Christmas trees and even personalised to reflect family members – making it a true family tree.
Celebrating their third birthday last month, Woozlewood is run by specialised husband and wife team David and Viki who created the business after David was disappointed with the quality of a wooden heart purchased for their son.
Disappearing into his workshop he later returned with a much superior creation and Woozlewood was born, with the couple working in a small studio in Greenfield and even training up their 4-year-old son Oscar.
With years of experience working with wood, they employ traditional skills and techniques to create their distinctive pieces.
Dave hand cuts every piece of locally sourced wood and sands it before handing over to Viki, who then paints the product using non-toxic paint and finishes with wax, affording each piece protection and a high sheen.
Both Dave and Viki design the pieces and if you can’t find exactly what you’re looking for on the website then the pair will do their best to make specific items to order. Most things can also be personalised to requirements, making them extra special.
Goods are also on display at ‘Nell and Berts No16 Vintage’ in Altrincham and Dave and Viki frequently attend fairs and food festivals around the North West.
