YOUNG PHOTOGRAPHERS across the area are invited to take part in an exciting new project launched by Saddleworth Parish Council.
The Parish Council is introducing ‘This is your Saddleworth’ to all local schools, who will choose the best photos taken by their students and submitted before June 23.
The photos can feature just about anything from landscapes and people to places and animals in all seasons; what is important is it says what is special to them about Saddleworth.
Each primary school will choose their three best photos and there will be six from the secondary school, which will all be sent to the Parish Council.
The photographs, along with the name of the photographer, will be added to the Council’s website library for everyone to view online, and could also be used in their newsletters, publications and press releases.
The Parish Council is also encouraging the public to submit digital images for use on the Council’s website. Although they can’t pay for photos, they will feature the name of the photographer alongside each one they use.
Photographs should be sent to the Parish Council via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org stating what, where and when your photographs were taken.
Alternatively, drop them into the Civic Hall in Uppermill on a memory stick or CD (no prints please). Don’t forget to include your name, address and a contact number.
