Community group Love Lydgate is appealing for local residents to help make this year’s Remembrance Day display bigger and better than ever by knitting poppies.
The village is known for its impressive annual display, and organisers are hoping to add even more handmade poppies in 2026.
To help get people involved, a community poppy-making session will take place at St Anne’s Church, Lydgate, on Saturday, August 15, from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Whether you’re an experienced knitter or would simply like to lend a hand, everyone is welcome to come along and support the project.
Organisers say they hope the session will be a fun way for the community to come together while helping create another memorable Remembrance display for the village.
