Canal clean-up volunteers wanted!

HELP Street Scene Greenfield spruce up the area’s canal towpaths.

Volunteers hard at work on the canal towpath- can you help?

Volunteers are cleaning debris, cutting back vegetation and resurfacing areas with stone as well as repainting lock gates along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.

Equipment provided but please wear suitable clothing and boots, and you may wish to bring a drink and snack.

The next dates are Saturday, February 2 and Tuesday, February 12.

Meanwhle, volunteers are co-ordinating their efforts to clean up canal towpaths in Dobcross and Uppermill.

The next project days are on  Thursday, January 31 and Saturday, February 9.

Meet at 10am at Lime Kiln Lock, everyone welcome. Tools and equipment provided.

You are recommended to wear stout footwear and suitable clothing.

The usual meeting point is 10am at the canal bridge on Moorgate Street.
